IN THE MID '40'S TO MID '60'S I TRAVELED AS A CHILD WITH MY PARENTS ALL OVER THE US FOR MY DAD'S JOB. WE STOPPED AT EVERY STUCKEY'S FOR GAS AND A PECAN LOG ALONG THE WAY, SOMETIMES EATING LUNCH IF THE TIMING WAS RIGHT AND SOMETIMES GETTING SOUVENIRS TO TAKE HOME. WE SENT POSTCARDS TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY BACK HOME TOO. I HAVE A SOFT SPOT FOR STUCKEY'S STILL. A GREAT AMERICAN INSTITUTION.

In the early 70's I would travel with my uncle from Houston to Mississippi. One time we stopped at the Stuckeys near Winnie, TX and ordered two hamburgers to take with us. We opened the wrapping after driving off to discover only the bun and meat pattie. We had not realized that we were suspossed to add the fixins ourselves. Over the year we had many a laugh about the scrawny hamburgers. In December 2012, I was traveling back from Mississippi to Houston and decided to stop at the same Stuckeys and get a hamburger. They now make it to order and it was delicious. Thanks for the memories.

In 1961 I as a salesman for Burroughs Corp, replaced an IBM installation and it was the start of a relationship I enjoyed working with the staff in Eastman for many years. As I recall they had approx. 300 stores open and under construction at that time. I just ran across a letter Mr. Fred Miller, Sec. Treas. at Stuckey's there wrote to my Boss complimenting both me and my company for our services. I have many good memories of my working there with them. Mr. Stuckey once commented to me that their office looked like a Burrough's showroom.
I wish you continued success.

During the mid 1960's, my mother took us on road trips during the summer. My younger brother had my mother stop at evvverrry Stuckey's we came to. There were a lot at that time. He particularly liked to look at, and have my mother buy, one of the indian items in the toy area (headdress, tomahawk, drum, etc.)

I have so many wonderful, fond memories of Stuckey's!!! I first visited Stuckey's in the 1970s. Since then, anytime I'm anywhere near a Stuckey's my husband and I will go out of our way to get to the store, even if it's miles away. One exciting time I was on a train going across Texas with my husband. As I looked out of the window I saw a giant Stuckey's sign!!! What a surprise that was! I miss when there were Stuckey's stores, not just an aisle in a convenience store. It's been awhile since I was in a Stuckey's and I long for the day when I can visit again! I have many souvenirs--shot glasses, a monkey, a shirt, cups, just to name a few. I've always loved Stuckey's!
