The name Stuckeys brings back the best childhood memories. When going on family road trips my folks would always find a Stuckeys , the chocolates and the saltwater taffy were the best

I remember Stuckeys on our family vacation drives from NY to FL in the 1970's. My favorite souvenir was a T-shirt that read....Stuckey's: Eat here and get Gas.

Stuckeys was my first job I ever had. I was able to go to college back in the early '70's because of them and when I came out of school, I was hired back at the same store as assistant manager and bookkeeper. I held that position until from 1976 to 1996 when the company was sold toanother person who was unfamiliar with the operation but rather wanted the location for gasoline sales. The store is no longer there in it's origional glory as we had many Canadian tour buses that would call ahead on their trips to Florida during the winter months to make sure that we had plenty of pecans (in and out of the shell and pecan meal). We were centerally located in Illinois and we were always busy.

Stuckeys was always our rest stop of choice for family vacations throughout the 70s and early 80s. We always loved stopping for gas and a cold drink. Your souvenir section was always a great hit. I still have fond memories of the Suckeys road map you used to have, where we plotted our next stop on the highway.
Stuckeys has a long lasting, positive memory in my life.
